While a lot has changed since purchasing Ranger Fiberglass Boat Company over 25 years ago, Fluid Motion is still a  family focused business, striving to build an extended family through boating. Therefore, it only made sense to solidify the sense of community, adventure, and tradition through quality branded merchandise. When you shop Boxer Bay, you’re sharing a brand and lifestyle with the Ranger, Solara, and Cutwater family.

 

Boxer Bay pays tribute to Ranger, the dog in this photo who is the namesake of our first boat line, Ranger Tugs. If you have visited us at our Kent location, you will see this photo hanging on the office wall. Ranger’s owner Howard “Smitty" Smith, started Ranger Fiberglass Boat Company in the same location in Kent, WA in 1958. Smitty’s loyal dog and companion not only accompanied him during the making of the company, but also flew with him in his P-40 (Warhawk) plane while he was in the air force. It’s Ranger’s spirit of loyalty and adventure that lies at the heart of who we are. 

 

 

While the company has expanded to include three lines (Ranger Tugs, Solara, and Cutwater Boats), it seemed only fitting to name our clothing and accessories line after the owner and dog that started it all.
